Inventory manipulation via unguarded mutable variant state
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Missing authorization in Shopper before 2.9.2 allows remote authenticated users to alter inventory for arbitrary product variants. VariantStock::stockAction performs stock mutations without edit_product_variants authorization, while its unlocked public variant property accepts a client-selected model identifier. An authenticated admin-panel account with browse-only access can inflate stock, reduce it, or force out-of-stock states beyond the displayed variant.
