CVE-2026-56815Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via upload-directory symlink

Published Jun 23, 2026 · Updated Jun 23, 2026

Symlink following in pwnlift before d7a9544 allows local users to write files with the server process's privileges. The Home.razor upload handler builds Uploads from the caller-controlled working directory, then File.WriteAllBytesAsync follows an unvalidated directory symlink. A user who can launch pwnlift under a more privileged account can redirect an upload to protected paths and escalate to that account.
