Out-of-bounds read in libtheora's AVI parser on Red Hat Enterprise Linux allows local users to crash applications or read heap data. In avilib.c, avi_parse_input_file() performs fixed-offset memcpy operations from truncated hdrl_data without confirming that each sub-chunk fits the buffer. Exploitation requires a local user to induce another user to open a crafted AVI file; the bounded consequences are an application crash or heap-data disclosure.
