Authenticated file disclosure via SVG entity expansion
Published Jun 23, 2026 · Updated Jun 23, 2026
XML external entity injection in Grav before 2.0.0-beta.2 allows remote authenticated users to read server files through SVG uploads. The VectorImageMedium constructor passes uploaded SVG content to simplexml_load_string without blocking external entities, so supplied file URIs are resolved. Admin-panel access and SVG upload permission are required; exploitation exposes files readable by the Grav process without modifying them.
