Remote code execution via forged update request
Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026
CSRF in GetSimple CMS Community Edition's UpdateCE plugin before 1.5 allows remote attackers to execute code via a forged update request. The UpdateCE form supplies no anti-CSRF token, and its POST handler accepts a download URL without token or origin verification, then extracts and deploys the fetched archive. An authenticated administrator must visit an attacker-controlled page; its auto-submitted request uses that session to deploy executable content.
