Local privilege escalation via kernel use-after-free
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Use-after-free in the DirectX graphics kernel allows local users on affected Windows releases to gain elevated privileges. Microsoft identifies a freed kernel object as the fault class but has not published the affected routine, object type, or triggering operation. A low-privileged local user must execute code on the system; successful exploitation crosses the local security boundary and grants higher privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
