Authenticated manager crash via unchecked FlatBuffer field
Published Jul 8, 2026 · Updated Jul 8, 2026
Null pointer dereference in Wazuh Manager before 5.0.0-beta3 allows remote authenticated users to crash wazuh-modulesd via inventory sync. The inventorySyncFacade consumer accepts a verifier-valid DataValue without its optional id, then calls data->id()->string_view() without checking for null. An enrolled agent is required; exploitation stops manager-side inventory processing and can disrupt other modules until wazuh-modulesd restarts.
