File creation via incorrect path-policy check
Published Jun 30, 2026 · Updated Jun 30, 2026
Path traversal in ImageMagick before 7.1.2-24 and 6.9.13-48 allows local users to create or truncate policy-denied files. The upstream advisory identifies an incorrect security-policy check but does not disclose the function, path transformation, or race that invalidates the authorization result. Exploitation requires low-privileged access to invoke a conversion path in a deployment that relies on ImageMagick path policies as a file-write boundary.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
