Service interruption via unchecked FTXT format boundary

Out-of-bounds read in the FTXT encoder in ImageMagick before 7.1.2-19 allows attackers to interrupt processing via crafted FTXT files. The encoder parses the ftxt:format value without checking its boundary, causing a one-byte heap read beyond the allocated buffer. Exploitation requires a local or user-induced ImageMagick invocation; the upstream assessment limits the consequence to reduced availability.
