Unauthenticated webhook access via bypassed authentication check
Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Authentication bypass in n8n's Chat Trigger node allows remote attackers to access its webhook without valid credentials. The webhook endpoint's authentication check can be circumvented when the node uses n8n User Auth; n8n has not disclosed the request property or code path that causes the check to fail. Exposure requires that non-default authentication mode, and successful exploitation grants unauthenticated access to the configured Chat Trigger webhook.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <1.123.22
- Affected versionversion=2.0.0 <2.9.3
