SSRF via unvalidated WebSocket source URLs
Published Apr 6, 2026 · Updated Apr 6, 2026
SSRF in GPT Researcher 3.4.0 through 3.4.3 allows remote attackers to access internal services through crafted source_urls values. The /ws handler passes supplied URLs to scraper HTTP clients without scheme, private-address, or metadata-endpoint filtering. Reachability requires an operator-exposed backend; the upstream project classifies that deployment as outside its intended trusted-use model.
