CVE-2026-56308Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account takeover via unverified email change

Published Jul 12, 2026 · Updated Jul 12, 2026

Insufficient authentication in Capgo before 12.128.2 allows remote authenticated users to take over accounts through email changes. The account-settings flow trusts an existing session and replaces the primary email without checking the current password or confirming the existing address. Access to a valid session cookie or authenticated browser is required; the change transfers recovery control and bypasses protections tied to the former email.
