Unauthenticated code execution via unrestricted attachment upload
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Unrestricted file upload in Balbooa Forms 2.4.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute PHP through a frontend attachment. The com_baforms frontend upload handler accepts files without authentication, a CSRF token, or a server-side extension allowlist, and saves the caller-supplied filename in a web-accessible uploads directory. An anonymous request can place and invoke a PHP web shell, granting code execution in the Joomla server context.
