Authenticated channel takeover via mismatched upsert scope
Published Jun 30, 2026 · Updated Jun 30, 2026
Authorization bypass in Capgo before 12.128.2 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite and take ownership of existing channels. updateOrCreateChannel checks app_id, name, and created_by, but its upsert conflicts only on app_id and name and rewrites created_by from attacker-controlled update data. Reaching POST /channel requires app.create_channel permission; a successful collision changes stored configuration and channel ownership.
