Bundle deletion via stale super_admin role
Published Jul 12, 2026 · Updated Jul 12, 2026
Privilege escalation in Capgo before 12.128.2 allows remote authenticated users to retain super_admin bundle-management access after demotion. The role-binding DELETE handler removes only role_bindings, while both RPCs authorize against the unchanged org_users.user_right value instead of the RBAC permission check. Exploitation requires an RBAC-enabled organization and credentials for a demoted super_admin; it exposes bundle status and can interrupt OTA updates by deleting unencrypted bundles.
