Authenticated scope bypass via retained parent key
Published Jun 24, 2026 · Updated Jun 24, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Capgo before 12.128.2 allows remote authenticated users to exceed subkey scopes through a crafted request. middlewareKey stores a supplied subkey only in the authentication context while downstream handlers continue reading the unrestricted parent key. A valid parent API key and referenced subkey are required; affected routes can then expose or modify resources beyond the subkey's allowed organizations or apps.
