OTA metadata poisoning via overbroad manifest insert policy
Published Jul 8, 2026 · Updated Jul 8, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Capgo before 12.128.2 allows remote authenticated users to poison OTA metadata through manifest insertion. The public.manifest INSERT policy checks only organization membership, and getManifestUrl embeds unchecked s3_path values in device-facing download URLs. Read-only organization access is sufficient; malicious asset delivery additionally requires readable attacker-controlled content at the referenced path.
