CVE-2026-56217Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Encrypted-bundle policy bypass via unchecked PostgREST update

Published Jul 8, 2026 · Updated Jul 8, 2026

Improper access control in Capgo before 12.128.2 allows remote authenticated users to disable enforced bundle encryption via PostgREST. The check_encrypted_bundle_on_insert function validates only INSERT operations, while UPDATE policies let API-key calls clear app_versions session_key and key_id values. Exploitation requires an app-scoped all API key and an existing encrypted bundle, and it removes integrity metadata relied upon by OTA security controls.
