Unauthenticated metrics poisoning via unchecked RPC writes
Published Jun 20, 2026 · Updated Jun 20, 2026
Missing authorization in Capgo before 12.128.2 allows remote attackers to poison cross-tenant storage metrics via a public RPC. The public.upsert_version_meta SECURITY DEFINER function accepts attacker-controlled app, version, and size values from the anon role and inserts them into version_meta without ownership checks, bypassing row-level security. Possession of a public anonymous key is sufficient, and injected rows persist through aggregation into dashboards, analytics, and false alerts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
