Authenticated Watchlist modification via incorrect authorization
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Elastic Kibana 9.4.0 through 9.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to modify Entity Analytics Watchlists. The published record says read-only Security Solution access is accepted for Watchlist writes, but Elastic has not identified the affected route or authorization check. Reachability requires Security Solution at the Platinum tier or above; Entity Store must also be enabled for disclosure beyond the user's authorized scope.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
