CVE-2026-56127Network attack vector

Stored XSS via unencoded firewall log descriptions

Published Sep 3, 2026 · Updated Sep 3, 2026

Stored XSS in Netgate pfSense Plus before 26.07 and CE before 2.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript. The firewall rule editor stores the descr value without HTML sanitization, and status_logs_filter.php prints it unencoded in inline log descriptions. Exploitation requires firewall-rule edit access, a logged match, inline descriptions, and a user with firewall-log access to view the entry, exposing that user's session data.
