CVE-2026-56122Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated file read via traversal request paths

Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026

Path traversal in Rick Knowles Winstone Servlet Container 0.9.10 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary host files. The static-file request path is resolved beneath the configured webroot without rejecting dot-dot-slash segments. A single unauthenticated HTTP GET can escape the webroot and return any file readable by the servlet engine process.
