Authenticated identity disclosure via unenforced OIDC token scopes
Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026
Authorization bypass in Gitea 1.26.2 allows remote authenticated users to read identity claims through the OIDC userinfo endpoint. The endpoint accepts personal access tokens as bearer credentials and returns email, organization, and team claims without checking token scopes. A token limited to read:misc is sufficient; disclosure is confined to the token holder's identity and excludes other users' data and repositories.
