Memory disclosure or service interruption via misbounded headers
Published Jul 27, 2026 · Updated Jul 27, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Apache Thrift C++ bindings before 0.24.0 allows remote attackers to disclose memory or interrupt RPC services. THeaderTransport::readHeaderFormat() compared the declared header size with the total frame length instead of the bytes remaining after the 10-byte common header, placing its parse boundary past the receive buffer. Unauthenticated network reachability to a C++ RPC endpoint that accepts Header Transport frames is sufficient; the bounded effects are memory disclosure or process interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
