CVE-2026-5597Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file overwrite via unchecked filename traversal

Published Apr 5, 2026 · Updated Apr 5, 2026

Path traversal in Griptape Framework 0.19.4 allows remote authenticated users to write files outside ComputerTool's work directory. ComputerTool joins the filename to local_workdir and passes the result directly to Path.write_text without resolving the path or verifying containment. Exploitation requires a consuming application to expose execute_code to an authenticated remote user; crafted traversal segments overwrite files writable by the application process and the supplied code then runs in the tool's container.
