TLS client crash via unchecked transcript-buffer copy
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in wolfSSL 5.4.0 through 5.9.1 allows remote attackers to crash TSIP-enabled TLS 1.3 clients via oversized handshakes. The tsip_StoreMessage() capacity check sets MEMORY_E after MsgBag exceeds 8 KB but still calls XMEMCPY, writing beyond the fixed transcript buffer. Reachability requires a Renesas MCU build with WOLFSSL_RENESAS_TSIP_TLS and TSIP hardware, operating as a TLS 1.3 client.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
