Internal XML disclosure via unchecked WMS URL
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
SSRF in GeoNetwork opensource 4.0.0 through 4.2.16 and 4.4.0 through 4.4.11 allows remote attackers to read internal XML data. The unauthenticated POST /api/tools/ogc/sld endpoint accepts a caller-supplied WMS server URL, performs a server-side HTTP GET without destination validation, and stores and returns XML response bodies. Anonymous network access is sufficient; non-XML targets remain reachable for internal requests and reconnaissance, but their response bodies are not returned.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 4.0.0, < 4.2.17
