Password disclosure via ungated cleartext authentication
Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
Credential exposure in MariaDB Connector/R2DBC before 1.4.1 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to capture database passwords. AuthenticationFlow runs ClearPasswordPluginFlow or PamPluginFlow after an unencrypted AuthSwitchRequest because AuthenticationPlugin cannot require secure transport. Exploitation requires a hostile server or on-path position during plain-TCP authentication; captured credentials permit direct database login.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
