Authenticated code execution via unchecked archive members
Published Jul 10, 2026 · Updated Jul 10, 2026
Path traversal in Package Import in Frappe Framework 15 before 15.112.0 and 16 before 16.23.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. Package Import extracted an uploaded tar archive without rejecting link entries or verifying that each member path remained inside the site's packages directory. Package Import access and high privileges are required, and successful traversal permits attacker-controlled files and server-side code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
