Cross-origin API access via credentialed wildcard origins
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
CORS misconfiguration in Erudika Scoold before 1.69.1 allows remote attackers to read API data through a logged-in user's browser. ScooldServer.java's apiCorsConfiguration() combines wildcard origin patterns with credential support, causing Spring to reflect arbitrary requesting origins. A logged-in user must visit a malicious website with browser credentials available for cross-origin requests; access includes user data, questions, configuration, and state changes within that user's permissions.
