Phishing via hostname-prefix redirect validation
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
Open redirect in Erudika Scoold before 1.69.1 allows remote attackers to send users to an untrusted site via crafted sign-in links. HttpUtils.getBackToUrl() resolves backto and returnto values, then accepts absolute URLs whose strings begin with the configured server URL instead of checking their origin. A victim must follow the link and authenticate; the subsequent redirect enables phishing but does not itself establish credential or token theft.
