Authenticated metrics disclosure via omitted admin check
Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026
Missing authorization in RustFS 1.0.0-beta.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read server-wide operational metrics. The MetricsHandler verifies only that credentials exist, then collects metrics without calling validate_admin_request for an admin action. Any valid IAM account can reach the HTTP endpoint, exposing disk I/O, network throughput, scanner timing, and cluster RPC state without granting data modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
