OAuth token theft via unauthenticated context endpoint
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Information disclosure in dbt Labs dbt MCP Server before 1.20.0 allows remote attackers to steal dbt Platform OAuth tokens. The GET /dbt_platform_context route in src/dbt_mcp/oauth/fastapi_app.py returns the persisted DbtPlatformContext without authentication or token redaction and accepts arbitrary Host headers. Exploitation requires an active OAuth helper after login and either a co-located process or browser-assisted DNS rebinding, granting access to the victim's dbt Platform projects, jobs, and environment secrets.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
