CVE-2026-55828Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Root-privileged file overwrite via symlink-chain extraction

Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026

Path traversal in Qbee Transport before 1.26.25 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite files above a tar extraction directory. The extractTar routine validates archive paths lexically but follows on-disk symlinks created by earlier entries, allowing a chain to escape one directory level. Exploitation requires a crafted archive to reach a privileged extraction path; under qbee-agent, the resulting write carries root privileges.
