Credential disclosure via misnamed authentication option filtering
Published Jul 31, 2026 · Updated Jul 31, 2026
Information exposure in Contao 4.13.40 through 5.3.46 and 5.7.0-RC1 through 5.7.6 allows remote authenticated users to receive crawler credentials. Factory.php's cleanOptionsFromConfidentialData() strips basic_auth and bearer_auth rather than Symfony's auth_basic and auth_bearer keys, so ScopingHttpClient sends configured authorization data to non-root origins. Exploitation requires configured crawler authentication, an external URL that the crawler visits, and an administrator or scheduled crawl; the recipient gains the Basic or Bearer credential.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=>= 4.13.40, < 5.3.47
