Stored XSS via unescaped Structure entry title
Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026
Stored XSS in Craft CMS 5.0.0-RC1 through 5.9.22 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in a control panel user's session. ElementTableSorter.js reads the decoded Structure entry title with jQuery .data('title') and concatenates it unescaped into an HTML string used to create a button's aria-label attribute. An Author-level account can plant the title, but execution requires a victim with saveEntries permission on the same Structure section to drag an entry beneath it; an elevated administrator session enables account takeover through same-origin actions.
