Code execution via reused committed lockfile metadata
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Code execution in pnpm before 10.34.2 and 11.0.0 through 11.5.2 allows remote attackers to run code via a malicious repository. The switchCliVersion path accepts version-matching packageManagerDependencies, packages, and snapshots from the committed env lockfile without fresh trusted-registry resolution, then installs and spawns the selected binary. Exploitation requires a victim to invoke pnpm directly in the repository during automatic version switching, after which code runs with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
