Native code execution via untrusted install-engine delegation
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Native code execution in pnpm before 10.34.2 and 11.0.0 through 11.5.2 allows remote attackers to run a binary via a malicious repository. The install path trusts repository-controlled configDependencies as authorization for pacquet delegation, resolves a host-specific binary under node_modules/.pnpm-config, and spawns it with no external trust decision. Execution requires a developer or CI job to run a dependency-management command in the repository, after which the binary receives that account's filesystem, environment, credentials, and network access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
