Stored XSS via unescaped iframe configuration attribute
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Stored XSS in Star Citizen Wiki EmbedVideo before 4.1.0 allows remote attackers able to edit pages to execute JavaScript in visitors' wiki origin. The formatter places JSON containing getUrl() output into the single-quoted data-mw-iframeconfig attribute without escaping attacker-controlled single quotes, allowing archiveorg identifiers and wistia or sharepoint URLs to terminate the attribute and add event handlers. The default consent-enabled configuration is affected, and malicious handlers execute for visitors in the wiki origin without further interaction.
