Stored XSS via unescaped class template substitution
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Stored XSS in Star Citizen Wiki EmbedVideo before 4.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through edited wikitext. EmbedHtmlFormatter::toHtml passes the user-controlled class value directly to sprintf when constructing a figure element, so a quote terminates the class attribute and injects arbitrary HTML attributes or markup. Page-edit permission is required, and the stored script runs in visitors' browsers when they render the affected page.
