Stored XSS via unescaped service name exception
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Stored XSS in Star Citizen Wiki EmbedVideo 4.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through editable wiki pages. EmbedServiceFactory::newFromName inserts an unrecognized service name into exception text, and EmbedVideo returns that text as HTML without neutralization. Edit access is required to store the payload; it then runs in the wiki origin for each visitor who renders the page.
