Authenticated service crash via unchecked strncpy length
Published Apr 5, 2026 · Updated Apr 5, 2026
Buffer overflow in setAdvPolicyData in Tenda M3 Access Controller 1.0.0.10 allows remote authenticated users to crash its web service. The sub_648D4 routine passes strncpy a length derived from the colon position in untrusted rebootTime data without checking the destination buffer size. A valid management session and crafted POST request are required; the demonstrated result is an unresponsive management interface.
