Authenticated secret disclosure via unchecked source-volume authorization
Published Aug 21, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026
Improper access control in Incus before 7.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to copy and read custom volumes from restricted projects. The storage volume creation handler checks only the destination project, then passes attacker-controlled source identifiers to CreateCustomVolumeFromCopy without verifying source-volume access. Exploitation requires custom-volume creation rights and both source names, and it exposes data stored in the copied volume.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
