Authenticated command execution via newline environment injection
Published Apr 5, 2026 · Updated Apr 5, 2026
Configuration injection in Complete POS Management and Inventory System 4.0.0 through 4.0.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. SettingsController writes newline-bearing configuration values into the root .env file, letting an injected DUMP_PATH flow into an unescaped PHP exec() backup command. Administrative access is required, and command execution occurs when database backup generation consumes the poisoned value.
