CVE-2026-55607Network attack vector

Unsandboxed code execution via worktree path confusion

Published Jun 29, 2026 · Updated Jun 29, 2026

Path traversal in Anthropic Claude Code 2.1.38 through 2.1.162 allows attackers to execute code outside the macOS sandbox. Worktree handling accepts the reserved .git name and follows attacker-controlled symlinks outside the sandbox, where Git fsmonitor execution can overwrite home-directory files such as .zshenv. Exploitation requires a user to clone a malicious repository containing prompt-injection content and run Claude Code against it.
