Open redirect via unnormalized backslash-prefixed target
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Open redirect in CakePHP Authentication allows remote attackers to send users to attacker-controlled sites through a crafted login URL. getLoginRedirect() passes redirect query values beginning with backslashes after parse_url() fails to identify a host, while browsers normalize those backslashes into slashes in the Location header. Exploitation requires a user to follow a crafted link; the redirect changes browser navigation but does not directly expose application data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=< 2.11.1
