Application crash via undersized MVG primitive buffer
Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026
Heap buffer overflow in ImageMagick 6 before 6.9.13-51 and 7 before 7.1.2-26 allows remote attackers to crash applications. In MagickCore/draw.c, CheckPrimitiveExtent allocates exactly extent PrimitiveInfo entries even though RenderMVGContent expects a terminating entry at that boundary, then fails to stop after resizing errors. Processing a crafted MVG image is required, and the published assessment limits the consequence to an application crash without data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
