Administrator takeover via unescaped Activity Log names
Published Oct 13, 2026 · Updated Oct 13, 2026
Stored XSS in Cronicle before 0.9.119 allows remote authenticated users to take over administrator accounts via crafted account names. The Activity.js renderer concatenates item.user.full_name into HTML passed to this.div.html without encoding; newline-containing tags bypass the bundled input filter. Planting requires a session and current password, or anonymous registration with free_accounts enabled; an administrator must open the Activity Log, after which privileged features enable command execution as the service account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
