Code execution via unrestricted SymPy expression parsing
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Code injection in QWED AI QWED MCP before 0.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute operating-system commands via crafted math input. The verify_math_expression function passes expression and claimed_result strings to SymPy parse_expr with Python built-ins available and without AST validation. Exploitation requires a downstream integration to supply attacker-controlled input because the default MCP tool registry does not expose this function.
