Authenticated RCE via StreamSQL column-name injection
Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
Code injection in the Yamcs StreamSQL compiler before 5.12.8 and 5.13.0 through 5.13.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute Java. Expression.fillCode_InputDefVars and SumExpression place an attacker-chosen double-quoted column name into generated Java source, which Janino SimpleCompiler.cook compiles without escaping or sandboxing. ControlArchiving privilege and access to executeSql are required; injected code runs with the Yamcs process's authority, exposing mission data and permitting tampering or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
